The name of the album was up in the air for a while, with Sliver Or Slice and Cash Cow being the top two candidates. As Mickey puts it "The song Sliver Or Slice is so very much the philosophy of my life - to live life as simply as possible, and to always make conscious, mindful choices - that I couldn't really name the CD anything other than Sliver Or Slice! And while Cash Cow is a catchy, fun tune, Sliver Or Slice is really more representative of the direction that my music is headed in, with its jazzy-bluesy vibe."
With co-producer and multi-talented multi-instrumentalist Todd Perkins, Mickey set out to make as honest a repesentation of his music as possible, with the entire collection representing the breadth, width and depth of his songwriting and personal life experiences. Mickey's hope is that listeners will respond, not only to the vibrant instrumentation, but to the words and life-affirming message that they convey, as well.
